The honor, bestowed by the U.S. Green Building Council, goes to buildings whose design helps to protect the environment and the health of those working inside. Dr. Clark, dean of the business school, said the university was trying to set an example by securing the first LEED certification in the community. “We recognized this building would have an impact on the environment in its design and construction phase, as well as in its future,” Clark said. The Evansville New Venture Creation Competition (ENVCC) is back for its fourth consecutive year, and will serve as the exciting culmination of Entrepreneurship Week. ENVCC is an all day competition in which undergraduate students from all over the country compete against their peers for the top prize of $10,000, to be put toward start-up costs. Second and third place prizes will also be awarded in the amounts of $2,500 and $1,000 respectively.

Each team will present their innovative new ideas to a panel of community judges, followed by a short Q&A session. Presentations will take place in Smythe Lecture Hall, beginning at 10 a.m., and awards will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Management 480: Special Topic ---GAP Projects

The Schroeder Family School of Business Administration has incorporated global thinking and experiential learning into the curriculum. We believe that this approach prepares students for success after graduation. Concurrently, the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana is charged with helping students and businesses prepare for success in a global marketplace. Working together, the Schroeder Family School and the Institute will be supporting Global Assistance Projects (GAP). These will be projects done in area businesses by students with faculty assistance. In the spring semester, students will be offered the opportunity to participate in a GAP project and receive credit by enrolling in Management 480. Students will learn project management tools the first two weeks of the course and then use these tools to run a project for a company. Selected companies will provide a champion (internal leader) to work with the students on the project. Students will be expected to spend 8-10 hours/week on the project; in some cases, this will be time at the company. Twelve students will be accepted into the course and instructor approval is required. Dr. Kleindorfer will be the instructor. If you have questions about the program email Dr. Kleindorfer at kk93@evansville.edu.

Fourth Annual Undergraduate Symposium On Global Enterprise
