Organizational Behavior class project
Juniors and seniors in Dr. Paglis’s Organizational Behavior class worked in four-person teams to complete a consulting project during the fall, 2005 semester. Each team studied a local organization that was experiencing some kind of a management problem. Teams investigated the problem with the help of a contact in the organization, and then applied concepts from the course and their library research to analyze the issue and propose recommendations for addressing it. Teams investigated a wide variety of management issues, including turnover in a local restaurant and employee motivation at a manufacturing plant. Their work culminated in a class presentation and a ten-page consulting report. A manager at one of the organizations under study was so impressed by the team’s work, he has already implemented one of its suggestions!
