UE Professor Named President-Elect of Missouri Valley Economics Association
Gale Blalock, professor of economics and chair of the Department of Accounting and Business Administration, was elected President-Elect of the Missouri Valley Economics Association at the 41st Annual Meeting of the Association in Nashville, Tennessee, Oct. 15. The Association, formed in 1963, continues to pursue the objective, first stated in the original constitution, of encouraging the development of economics as a theoretical as well as an applied discipline. The association publishes its journal, The Journal of Economics, biannually. His term as President will begin in this month. He will be responsible for organizing the program for the Association’s 43rd Annual Meeting in Minneapolis in October of 2006.
