UE Ethics Bowl Competition Planned

All UE students, regardless of major, are invited to form teams of 3 to 5 students to compete in the University’s first UE Ethics Bowl. Winning teams will participate in the regional Ethics Bowl in Indianapolis. Students will be provided with case materials to prepare and review for oral presentation.

Ethics Bowl is a student competition inspired by the nationally televised “College Bowl” program, but based on ethical questions and discussion. Teams of 3 to 5 undergraduate students compete to show their ability to exercise moral reasoning skills in a friendly and competitive atmosphere. Each team will present and defend their stance on issues that pose ethical dilemmas focusing on current problems and issues. Judges score each of three rounds based on clarity, depth, focus, and logic of each team’s answers.
