Professor Helen Yu (Harvard University)

The Asian marketplace is an imperative region for U.S. companies in which to expand their international business opportunities. The educational objectives of the University of Evansville and the Institute for Global Enterprise reflect this fact with the acquisition and current implementation of a grant entitled Project Tri-State Global Enterprise – Asia. As part of this initiative, the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana has the pleasure and distinction to host Professor Helen Yu, of Harvard University, as our 2005 International Visiting Scholar during the week of September 19 – 23, 2005.

The International Visiting Scholar functions as an important component of the Project Tri-State Global Enterprise – Asia grant. Professor Yu works as a Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer with the Global Strategy Institute at Harvard. Credited with myriad international business work experiences and published academic articles, her expertise has created a niche in the academic and professional realm of global business strategy and management.

Professor Yu is eager to share her research and knowledge with the greater Evansville business community as it relates to commercial expansion within the Pacific Rim. During her stay, Professor Yu will serve as a guest lecturer at several international business classes and facilitate a research discussion forum for the campus and surrounding community. She is also open to providing one-on-one consultations with individuals and small groups to discuss corporate global strategies toward commercial endeavors in Asia and provide recommendations based on her extensive studies and professional participation in this arena.
