2004 Grad Honored with Wall Street Journal Student Achievement AwardKent Shrock, 2004 summa cum laude graduate of UE with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, was listed Wednesday in the Wall Street Journal as having received its Student Achievement Award. The awards, which were announced in a full-page advertisement in the WSJ yesterday, recognize students who have made significant achievements at their respective colleges and universities and are nominated by that University for the award. Shrock, who was a finance major and religion minor, was involved in a variety of capacities at UE and was an outstanding business student. Last spring, Shrock was awarded the Governor Bob Orr Indiana Entrepreneurial Fellowship in Indianapolis as an associate at City Securities Corporation, an investment bank. Through this program, Shrock is currently working on projects on a rotational basis for different departments in the investment bank in order to learn more about banking and the company. It is a two-year position. Created in 2001, the Fellowship is a means to keep the best and brightest recent graduates within the state to help Indiana’s economic competitiveness. |
