Robert S. Myer has been both a Fortune 500 Executive and a small company President.
Immediately after graduating from the University of Evansville, in 1979, he began work at NCR Corporation.
During the 1980’s Myer moved his career with Honeywell, Inc and rose quickly through the ranks as the youngest executive in the company’s history that spans well over 100 years. Myer left the organization for an opportunity to manage start up activities created by another Fortune 500 organization.
As a Vice President of the Travelers Corporation he helped develop a new managed health care company, establishing operations in 26 cities across the country.
Promotions in the Fortune 500 world caused him to live and work in many parts of the country. A native of Evansville, Myer realized that Evansville has a unique quality of life and family orientation. He chose to come home to Evansville and go about growing business here.
In 1991 Myer took over as president of a small Evansville area company that manufactured and distributed automobile racing products, A Fab Corporation. Over the next 13 years he grew it from 40 employees to well over 200 while firmly establishing it as the premier company in its industry. Under his leadership the company was recognized as the industry leader in the areas of customer service, marketing, products, and distribution.
In addition to his executive and entrepreneurial successes, Bob has been an active member of both The Venture Club of Louisville and the Venture Club of Indiana as an investor. More recently, he co-founded the Midwest Venture Club, Inc. based in Evansville. He also serves in director and advisory roles for several organizations.
