Dr. Antonina Espiritu joined the faculty of the University of Evansville’s
Schroeder School of Business Administration as an Associate Professor of
Economics in August of 2007. She earned her PhD in Economics from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln through the NSF Economic Education
Scholarship while her MA in Economics was from the University of Hawaii
at Manoa through the East-West Center Degree Scholarship. She was also
the recipient of Japan’s Ministry of Education (MONBUSHO) research
scholarship in Economics. Her academic experience includes teaching
positions at the Hawaii Pacific University, University of
Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Hawaii at Manoa and De La Salle
University. Her teaching interests are in the areas of Macroeconomic
theory (Principles and Intermediate), International trade and finance
(Undergraduate and Graduate), Economic Development, Business Research
Methods or Applied Econometrics and Public finance. Her current research
interests include economic growth and technology, International trade
and finance issues, Economics of education; and Macroeconomic policies
related to Economic development, Gender and racial issues, Religion and
demographics, and public policy issues. She had several research studies
funded and was solicited to review several book manuscripts, NSF
dissertation proposals and other academic journal articles.
