How to be a Genuine Networker
Dana Nelson
12:15 – 1:15 pm
McCurdy Alumni Memorial Union Building, Room 200
The Schroeder Family School of Business Administration presents the next installment of the Women's Professional Development Luncheon Series - "How to be a Genuine Networker."
The luncheons are designed to connect the women of the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration with female professionals from the business community. In addition, these events assist students in cultivating the early components of career preparation through professional development and provide an environment in which students can network and establish mentorships with local businesswomen.
Dana Nelson is co-owner of Direct Data Xchange, a computer service oriented firm based in Evansville, Indiana, that specializes in the design and implementation of complete computer network solutions for small and medium size businesses. She is currently involved with many community organizations, such as Christian Fellowship Church, the YMCA, Girls in Bloom, and Patchwork Central. She is an Advanced Master Gardener, is on the WNIN Ready to Learn Advisory Committee, and is a member of both ANEW and PRO Networking Groups. Dana has spoken locally on several occasions focusing on communication, networking, a variety of computer related topics, as well as fitness and nutrition. At the luncheon, she will present tips and ideas for successful networking. Student participants will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of networking as well as participate in networking games and exercises. Other women leaders from the community will be present to assist students and provide a professional networking environment. What is Dana’s best networking secret? Instead of thinking of “networking” as something you go to “networking events” to do, make it an integral part of your everyday contacts. She believes that if you actively seek to help others, they will want to help you in return.
To learn more information about these events, contact Anna Newton at 812-488-2426 or via email: an42@evansville.edu. Interested students must RSVP to 812-488-2455.
*This event is open to all women business students of the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration.
