New Venture Competition Announcement Coming on February 19

Electronic business plans were due by Friday, January 29. Evaluators will examine submissions and narrow down the field to determine which teams will advance to the presentation phase of the contest. Presentations will occur in the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration Room 170 (Smythe Lecture Hall) on Friday, March 26.

The 2010 winner will claim a prize of $10,000. This competition is open to all undergraduate teams in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Etiquette Dinner Planned for Business Majors

All business majors at the University of Evansville will be invited to the annual Business Etiquette Dinner scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2010. This event is designed to provide valuable information not taught inside the classroom to help students develop confidence and provide a competitive edge in business dining situations. Diana Hurt, Vice President and Corporate Trainer at Integra Bank, will provide instruction on many practical tips of business dining. Christine McKeag Named Interim Dean

The University of Evansville is proud to announce Christine McKeag as the interim dean of its Schroeder Family School of Business Administration. McKeag, who currently is the assistant dean and an assistant professor of accounting, will assume the role of interim dean on January 1. She will temporarily replace Robert Clark, who is leaving the University of Evansville to become president of Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Dr. Robert Clark Named President of Husson College

University of Evansville’s Robert A. Clark, Ph.D., has been identified as the next president of Husson University in Bangor, Maine, both institutions announced on October 22, 2009. Clark, who has served at the University of Evansville since 2003, is currently the Schroeder Family Dean and Professor of Finance and International Business at the University of Evansville’s Schroeder Family School of Business Administration. He also serves as the University’s Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and as the Director for the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana. He will assume leadership of the Maine institution on January 1. Read more

Women's Professional Leadership Development Luncheon scheduled for January 28, 2010

The next Women's Professional Leadership Development Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2010. The topic will be "Dressing for Success." Selected leading business women from various professional backgrounds in the Evansville area will provide examples of proper dress for interviews and/or everyday wear at their companies. The luncheon will begin at 12:15 PM in the Ridgway University Center. All women business majors at UE are invited, though reservations are required. More information

The Schroeder Family School of Business Administration has incorporated global thinking and experiential learning into the curriculum. We believe that this approach prepares students for success after graduation. Schroeder Family School of Business Administration Receives LEED's Certification

The Schroeder Family School of Business Administration has earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. The honor, bestowed by the U.S. Green Building Council, goes to buildings whose design helps to protect the environment and the health of those working inside. Bob Clark, dean of the business school, said the university was trying to set an example by securing the first LEED certification in the community. “We recognized this building would have an impact on the environment in its design and construction phase, as well as in its future,” Clark said.
